Parking at the top is very limited. Arrive early or be prepared to park lower down in Paleokastritsa and walk up.

Take the Green Bus

The A9 Green Bus from Corfu Town goes directly to Paleokastritsa. From the final stop, it’s a steep but scenic walk to the monastery.

Getting There & Location

The monastery sits at the very top of the highest promontory in Paleokastritsa.

  • By Car & Parking: Driving from Corfu Town takes about 40 minutes. The final ascent to the monastery is up a very steep and narrow road. There is parking at the top but it is limited. It is strongly advised to arrive early (before 10 am) to find a space, particularly if parking lower down in Paleokastritsa and making the steep 15-20 minute walk up the hill.
  • By Bus: This is the best and most stress-free option. The A9 Green Bus service runs frequently from Corfu Town directly to Paleokastritsa. From the final bus stop, it is a steep but scenic uphill walk to the monastery entrance.

  • Tickets: Entry to the monastery is free, but donations are gratefully accepted in the church and museum to support its upkeep.
  • Dress Code: As this is an active monastery, a respectful dress code is enforced. Shoulders and knees must be covered. Wraps and skirts are usually provided at the entrance for those who need them.
