| Access Easy (By Car) | Waters Very Shallow & Calm | Best For Food Lovers & A Quiet Escape |
Astrakeri Beach is a slice of authentic, old-school Corfu. Centred around a small, working fishing harbour, this quiet and charming spot offers a glimpse into the island’s more traditional coastal life. It’s less of a resort beach and more of a tranquil retreat, renowned for its calm, shallow waters and, most importantly, its fantastic seaside tavernas serving the freshest fish imaginable. If you’re looking to escape the crowds and enjoy a peaceful meal with your feet almost in the sand, Astrakeri is a hidden gem.
Located on Corfu’s northern coast, Astrakeri is nestled between the larger resorts of Roda and Sidari. The drive from Corfu Town takes about one hour.
Amenities at Astrakeri are minimal and centred around its identity as a fishing harbour. You won’t find water sports or rows of shops. Instead, the main draw is the collection of outstanding fish tavernas right on the waterfront. Some of these provide a small number of sunbeds and umbrellas for their patrons. For the most part, visitors bring their own towels and find a quiet spot on the sand. The tavernas provide the only public restroom facilities.
