An Overview of Dassia Beach

A Practical Guide to Dassia Beach

Location & Getting There

Dassia Beach is situated approximately 14 kilometers north of Corfu Town, between the villages of Gouvia and Ipsos. The drive from Corfu Town takes approximately 20 minutes.

  • Parking: Roadside parking is available throughout Dassia resort.
  • Accessibility: The beach is easily accessible from the main road, with no steep paths or stairs.
  • Transport: Route 7 on the public bus connects Dassia and Corfu Town. Car rental is also a popular option.

Beach & Water Characteristics

  • The water is shallow near the shore, making it safe for children and less confident swimmers.
  • Gradual depth allows for comfortable swimming further out.
  • Ideal conditions for water sports like parasailing and water skiing.
  • No lifeguards, so visitors should exercise caution while swimming.
  • The 🟦 symbol indicates this beach has been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag for its excellent water quality and safety.

Amenities

There are plenty of beach bars and tavernas in the area offering food and drinks, and water sports are also available, including paddle boarding, parasailing, and water skiing. A large portion of the beach is occupied by hotels and it is therefore worth keeping in mind that sunbeds may not be as readily available as other beaches in Corfu.

Is Dassia Beach Right For You?

You’ll Love Dassia Beach If…

  • You are a family, couple, or traveller seeking a mix of relaxation and activities.
  • You enjoy stunning views, organized facilities, and proximity to Dassia village.
  • You prefer pleasant weather with fewer crowds (in May, June, or September).

Things to Keep in Mind…

  • Pebbly Terrain: Water shoes are recommended for comfort.
  • Seasonal Crowds: The beach can get busy in July and August, especially near the organized sections.
  • Limited Shade: Bring sun protection, as natural shade is scarce.
  • Boat Traffic: Water sports and boat rentals mean occasional activity in the water.
  • Space: Although the beach is big in itself, there are a number of hotels that have beach front access and therefore sunbeds from those hotels occupy much of the beach. It is worth noting however that beaches in Greece are not privately owned.
