It’s very close, only about 8km. The No. 7 Blue Bus provides a frequent service that takes just 15-20 minutes, making it one of the most accessible beaches from the capital.
Kontokali Beach is a mix of sand and fine shingle. It’s generally comfortable underfoot, but some visitors may prefer water shoes for entering the sea.
Large parts of the beach are organised by the big hotels in the area, giving it a well-serviced, resort feel. However, there are public sections and the atmosphere is generally more relaxed than a dedicated party resort.
