An Overview of Rovinia Beach

Rovinia Beach is a secluded cove that feels like a secret discovery. Tucked away on Corfu’s western coast, its smooth white pebble shore is kissed by breathtakingly turquoise waters and framed by dramatic, verdant cliffs. This is a perfect escape for those seeking a peaceful, natural retreat. Whether you want to swim in the crystal-clear sea, snorkel around the rocks, or simply relax in an unspoiled paradise, Rovinia offers an unforgettable taste of wild Corfiot beauty.

Location & How to Get There

Situated near the village of Liapades and approximately 20 km from Corfu Town, Rovinia is accessible via a rewarding walk. The drive from Corfu Town to the parking area takes around 30-40 minutes.

Parking & The Walk Down

  • Parking: There are two main free parking areas. The upper car park is larger and easier to access. A smaller, lower car park at the end of a dirt track gets you closer but can be rougher.
  • The Walk: From the lower car park, it’s a pleasant and relatively easy 10-minute walk down a shaded path through olive groves to reach the beach. The walk is a beautiful part of the experience.
  • Accessibility: Due to the uneven path and steps, the beach is not suitable for those with mobility issues or pushchairs.
  • By Bus: The A10 bus route connects Corfu Town with Liapades. From the bus stop, it’s a scenic but longer walk to the beach path.

What to Expect at Rovinia: Facilities & Tips

Rovinia is an unorganized, wild beach, which is a key part of its charm. To make the most of your visit, it’s essential to come prepared.

  • Beach Surface: The beach is made of smooth white pebbles. Aqua shoes can be useful for extra comfort.
  • Facilities: There are no sunbeds, umbrellas, toilets, or showers. You must bring everything you need with you.
  • Food & Drink: There is no taverna. However, a small “kantina boat” often pulls into the bay during the day, selling cold drinks, ice creams, and snacks – a truly unique feature!
  • Shade: There is limited natural shade from the cliffs, especially in the afternoon. Bringing your own umbrella is a good idea.
  • Activities: The crystal-clear water is perfect for swimming and snorkeling around the rocks on either side of the bay.
