San Stefanos (also known as Agios Stefanos Avliotes) is a wonderfully spacious and serene resort on Corfu's northwest coast, celebrated for its enormous golden sandy beach and incredibly relaxed atmosphere. Located on the northwest coast, San Stefanos is approximately 45 km from Corfu Town. The drive takes just over an hour.
Crucial Tip: Do not confuse this resort with Agios Stefanos (NE) on the opposite side of the island!
It is one of the best sandy beaches in Corfu. It's a very long and deep expanse of soft, golden sand with shallow, clear water that is perfect for families and long beach walks.
The nightlife is very low-key and relaxed. Evenings are centred around leisurely dinners at the friendly tavernas and quiet drinks at one of the bars overlooking the sea. It is not a party destination.
They are completely different. San Stefanos (NW) is a large, open, sandy beach resort. Agios Stefanos (NE) is a small, exclusive, pebble-coved fishing village popular with yachts. Always check which one you are booking!
