Boukari is famous for one thing above all else: its incredible fresh fish tavernas. It is considered by many locals and visitors to be one of the best places on the entire island for a seafood meal.
There is a small, narrow stretch of pebbles and shingle that is perfect for a quiet swim. However, it is not a large, organised beach with lots of sunbeds. People visit Boukari for the food and atmosphere rather than for a full beach day.
The village itself is very quiet and tranquil. The tavernas can be popular and pleasantly busy, especially on weekends and summer evenings, but it never feels crowded like a major tourist resort.
