Episkepsi is in the north of Corfu, approximately 35 km from Corfu Town. The scenic drive takes around one hour.
Episkepsi is not a tourist resort, so there are no typical tourist attractions like water sports or souvenir shops. The "things to do" are to experience the authentic atmosphere, walk the narrow streets, enjoy a coffee in a local kafenion, and use it as a base for hiking.
Yes, there are a couple of excellent, traditional family-run tavernas in the village that serve authentic Corfiot cuisine, as well as several local coffee shops (kafeneia).
It can be an excellent base if you have a car and your priority is exploring the mountains and the north of Corfu while staying in a peaceful, authentic location. It is not a good base if you want a beach-focused holiday.
