An Overview of Liapades Village

Liapades is a wonderfully authentic and tranquil gem tucked away on Corfu’s beautiful west coast. Unlike its more bustling neighbours, Liapades retains a strong sense of traditional Greek life, with its charming old houses, narrow alleys, and a relaxed, unhurried pace. It’s an ideal destination for those seeking a peaceful holiday surrounded by stunning natural beauty, offering access to some of the island’s most pristine pebble coves and crystal-clear waters.

Location & Getting There

Liapades is situated on Corfu’s central-west coast, approximately 20 km from Corfu Town and the airport. It lies just south of the famous Paleokastritsa, offering a much quieter atmosphere. The village itself is set slightly inland on gentle hills, with roads leading down to its various beaches. The drive from Corfu Town takes around 35 minutes.

Transport & Parking

  • By Car: Renting a car is highly recommended for convenience and to fully explore the numerous coves. Parking can be limited in the old village centre, with more street parking available near the main beach.
  • By Bus: Liapades is served by the A10 Green Bus route. Be aware that the bus stops on the main road, requiring a walk down into the village. For full details on all routes, see our Corfu Bus Guide.
  • Accessibility: The main beach area is relatively flat, but the old village is hilly with narrow, uneven streets. The paths to the secluded beaches are steep and not suitable for those with mobility issues.

What to See & Do in Liapades

  • Explore the Hidden Beaches: This is the main attraction. Liapades is the gateway to some of Corfu’s most beautiful coves. Hike the trails or hire a boat from the main beach to discover gems like Rovinia and the double-sided Limni Beach.
  • Wander the Old Village: Explore the charming, traditional village centre with its labyrinthine cobbled streets, colourful houses, and local kafenions where you can experience authentic Corfiot life.
  • Hire a Boat: From Liapades’ main beach, you can easily hire small motorboats (no license required) to explore the stunning coastline at your own pace, finding your own private cove for the day.
